The society meets in the centre of the historic Dorset town of Wimborne on the third Monday afternoon of the month (except in August and September) at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne at 2.15pm. Tea is served after the lecture.
The Centre is fortunate to have plenty of ‘pay and display’ parking adjacent to it and is well served by local bus routes. Our current membership is in excess of 200 and as our hall is large we can accommodate new members. We are always pleased to welcome visitors to our lectures for a small fee.
Our current programme is shown under the ‘Lectures’ heading from which you will see that we have an interesting and varied selection of speakers all of whom are drawn from The Arts Society Directory. Over the years we have enjoyed many excellent lectures on a huge variety of relevant topics.
We are an active and forward looking society having gained charitable status and invested in new technology to ensure our speakers have the finest equipment. We enjoy outings to Art Galleries, Museums and Historic Houses along with Special Interest days, where a subject is explored in greater depth. We also support Young Arts projects.
